Jack of All Trades, Master of All (In Web Design)

Designing websites is a complex field. Having an eye for design, being able to choose the right colors and aligning the pieces with one another for the strongest visual impact is as necessary as knowing your way around HTML, PHP, CSS, Javascript or whatever technology you use.

But it doesn’t stop here. Technology is evolving as fast as design trends change. I am a firm believer that we should specialize as late as possible, if at all. Even if at certain times it seems that we are not able to keep up with all new developments, we should always give our best. In the end, the one with the broadest knowledge base also has the widest perspective, can pull the right strings, and leads.

It boils down to getting fast results. Only results count. We can talk a lot, but without backing up our words they are not worth that much.

There is no need to understand everything down to the smallest detail. Get a working knowledge and move on. Use black boxes whenever possible. Understand what output you get from a certain input. When asked, describe instead of explain.

Get fast results designing sites for yourself and your customers. In the end, you’re measured by what you’ve accomplished – not what you’ve been dreaming about.
