Minimalism is a very popular attitude as of late, whether it’s crazy 5 toe’d shoes or websites it doesn’t matter. Sometimes less is more and with blogs in particular that is certainly the case. Providing a clean, simple and distraction free canvas is not only visually pleasing it improves your visitors experience. There are so many minimal website designs out there I could probably start a new blog just showing them all off. Instead I’ll focus on how these select websites do it right.

In the web world, we are surrounded with different types of web styles. One  common web design style today is the grunge/vintage look. These sites usually consist of dark colors with bright accents. If done right, these sites can look absolutely amazing.

Often overlooked in design is the footer of the site, which may be the last thing the visitor sees before they decide to leave. The right eye-catching footer can reel people back in and give you a chance to connect with them in various ways your sidebars just can’t with their limited space.

Leonardo da Vinci said the human foot is a masterpiece of engineering. Some of these websites decided to make their blog’s “foot” a masterpiece in their own right. Some are minimal and offer creative ways to connect with the owner others are simply works of art that command your attention.
