Hosting

There are millions of hosting companies out there that do a good job. Over the years I had to deal with a lot for them.

What I am looking for in a hosting company is firstly, world-class, fast and responsive support – the support team must be willing to walk the extra mile for you.

Secondly, their technology should be up to date and super fast. There are companies out there who — if you took a super-cheap shared hosting account — just put too many accounts on a single server, which slows down your site a lot. I tell you what, even super-cheap shared hosting accounts need to be fast.

Besides that, I don’t like hosting companies that block common scripts and applications from working because they want to sell you their own proprietary blogging or shopping software or, even worse, have not allocated you enough memory and processing power to run those applications. As soon as I figure something like this out, I switch my hosting provider.

I am a big fan of placing my sites on servers and within the IP spaces that are closest to my main focus group. Here are the two companies that offer great support and service and provide you with the technology you need to succeed. It is All-Inkl.com in Europe and InMotion Hosting in the USA. InMotion has two data centers, one on the east coast and one on the west coast. I am currently in Montreal, Canada and have to say that their servers are the fastest I have experienced so far.
